Tuesday's Show and Tail!

After much thought, I decided to join this fun endeavor! Maybe it will prompt me to spend more time on my photography, especially now that I am wrapping up my MA Thesis. Maybe it will entice more people to follow this blog and offer feedback on my photographic skills. Maybe it will just be fun! So, here's my first ever entry for Tuesday's Show & Tail:

SANDY

She likes to stretch out when she sleeps

Or strike a pose if she dares

She's always crawling into things, and under as well

She can sleep so sound and peaceful

Her best buddy is a DOG! Joey is my neighbor's...

And of course, she is a Spartan!!!

I adopted Sandy from my vet about a month after I lost one of the funnest kitties I have ever owned (I will post more about that one next time). What's funny about Sandy is that her name was originally "Mickey James". When my dad saw her for the first time he said "Sandy" and it stuck! She's been a joy and a pain, but I love her just the same...

  1. Welcome to Tuesdays' Show & Tail!

Sandy looks like a sweetie! I love the second picture of her! It looks like you can pet her through my computer. That is so funny that your neighbor's dog comes and visits at your house in your house! lol My neighbor's dog from a good distance away comes and does his #2 on my kids swing set slide! No kidding! And my Granny has a cat that comes and stays at her house in the day but goes home to where it actually belongs and spends the night there! lol

Thanks for sharing Sandy with us this week! I'll look forward to seeing more pictures of your furr babies and friends in the future!

  4. Sandy is a beautiful cat. I have a couple that sleep on their backs too. Your pictures are very good. Do you use a tripod? I've started using one some of the time, but I'd love to learn to take better pictures but all I have is a point and shoot. I keep thinking one of these days I'll get a good camera and take a class.

  5. Thanks all! She sure keeps me on my toes (and is better than an alarm clock on some mornings).

@Betty: No, I don't have a tripod at the moment for either of my cameras. I just make sure that I hold whichever one I am using real steady and with both hands. I also make sure the stabilizing mechanism is turned on, which helps most of the time.
